The Plan is a movie premiering today at Massive Change Network Global Design Seminars.
This is on my wishlist for Christmas. Glad to see it coming out, but very saddened to hear that World Changing can’t find the resources to continue their inspirational effort. I had the chance to hear and talk with Alex a few time, and it has always been very inspirational, and I know his ‘Bright Green’ thoughts and approach is making a difference many places.
The international Design Camp is running this week at Designskolen Kolding and today Michael Braungart from EPEA gave his inspirational Cradle to Cradle speak. By now I have heard it a couple of times, and the gospel is still the same. Still very inspiring message:
“I am not talking about sustainability. Sustainability is boring. You don’t call your relation with your girlfriend sustainable.
Let’s not talk about ethics. Let’s talk about design. Let’s talk about beauty. Let’s talk about quality.”
Afterwards Cordy Swope from Ideo gave a short talk on ‘behavior design’ and guided the following workshop on ‘New Ways of Transportation”
Great idea “”reclaiming forgotten space”. Bus Roots by NYU graduate student, interaction designer Marco Castro Cosio

Watch the video to get the full info or visit their nice and simple website. They even have a tumblr blog using the same theme as mine. What’s not to like?

Interesting! Worth keeping an eye on.
While the world was sliding into recession LG increased their design budget to US $ 100 milion and now Samsung is investing $20.6 billion in green technologies
Some time ago I stumbled upon this beautiful poster by Matt Appleton depicting all the elements of an epson stylus photo 1270 ink jet printer and comparing it to a pencil. I found out that this is a poster was made in relation to a documentary investigating the impact of electronic waste on the global community which Matt made in 2005, when he was still a student at Royal College of Art.
You can download and watch the 10 minute film here. (hope it’s ok I share Matt?)

The first issue of the new magazine ‘CSR – Inspiration and knowledge for the management of the sustainable company’ was just released this January. And MOVE was featured in it with a 2 page write up of our work with creating a sustainable laptop and service system for Zepto Computers.
